add item to a track

We have item max 2 minutes that tell something about the artist or a track. These are dry voiced, so without a background music. on the forum I read following but lost the topic something like before and after and the file must have the same name as the track. Is this the best way to do this?

There are basically 2 options:

1) is called 'Station Voice Files'. See here: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=38
This option is related to an individual audio track and you need (as you already explained) specific named files along with that track.

2) is called 'Automatic Sweepers' and is related to artist (and is an option of a script-line):
- it selects a random track from the cartwall library, but filters the cartwall with ONLY tracks matching the same Artist! This allows picking (if available) an Artist related intro sweeper, eg. to announce/feature the Artist.
- it always uses the given transition, eg. if the Artist intro is too long (longer than the ramp time of the audio), the sweeper stays as a dedicated track within the playlist, else it will fit til the RAMP time. In your case (2 minutes) such sweeper would play as a separate track. The following image shows where you define it (click on the small arrow in the Options column of a script-line):
