Overlay Scheduler LoadTrack Question

Post by radio42 »

From a PM question:
Dear Bernd,

I got stuck with one thing in the Overlay Scheduler section.

We have a weekday morning show. between 7 and 9 o'clock. The material is automatically synchronized from an external cloud every morning half an hour before the start of the broadcast. The file names are always the same. There is only an overwrite. Within the overlay part, not a script, but the file itself is called at what time. He does his job well. But I can't figure out how to set the transitions, where there is a decay, don't leave the track all the way through, but set it automatically. ACPD e.g. All speech within the OVERLAY is set to the Talk category clock. This has also been set up nicely so that fade in, next, fade out everything works properly. But that doesn't work. How to set this up?

My other question is how can I set it so that it does not appear when loading material from the Overlay Scheduler section, e.g. that OVERLAY 1 track - track name -title only the name of the Overlay itself. For example, advertising, the name of the program that I enter as the overlay name. Thank you very much for the answers.
Best regards:

I am not sure, if I understand you correctly. But you load a single track in an Overlay Scheduler Entry using the "Type: File" instead of 'Advert Slot', 'Script'... this track is replaced daily from an external cloud.

And you want to apply "Automatic Cue Point Detection" (ACPD) on this track to have a better segue/transition.
With the "Type: File" this can not be achieved, as this 'only' loads the track and reads-in all meta-data.

When you want to force a recalculation of the cue-points (ACPD) you can only achieve this via the "Type: Script".
Use a single script-line with the mode 'LoadTrack' and set the script-line option "RecalcACPD" ! This option enforces to recalculate ACDP - just as you want.

To define the title updates for such overlay, select the appropriate mode in the "Title Updates", e.g. set this to 'Use Overlay Name', 'No Title Updates',...

Hello Bernd,
thanks for your reply.

I wrote the script, I only selected 'Load Track', I selected the "RecalcACPD" section in the settings.

However, when calling the script, the value duration time: 0 and the overlay does not want to start.

What other settings do I need to make to get it up and running?

I haven't gotten to the address updates yet...as this mistake of ours is removed afterwards.

Thx
Tibi

You should not set any script history in that script AND also add (leave) the option to suppress any history checks!
Use the 'Test...' function with the script to see what is going wrong!

Now the script call is perfect, but I can't do it well in the overlay editor, because it doesn't start the container at the specified time, but skips and goes to the next track.

What could be the cause of the error?

I tried to generate tomorrow morning's broadcast and I can hear that the advertising and program signal containers are working perfectly, but the program in my question, is left out and just moves on.

Many Thanks.

The Overlay Scheduler Log (see Tool tab - Log Files) will tell you…

Looks like you have another Overlay starting statue exact same time. Did you select the Combine Parallel Overlays? And set a Prio. to define which overlay to play first?

After fine-tuning, things are going well. Thanks for the help!

Unfortunately, the Title Updates section is still not good for some reason. Even if I set it up as described, it sends it to the stream for this length:
"Overlay: Shine VEKKER [1 Entries] - Shine VEKKER"
All you need to say is: "Shine VEKKER"...

The broadcast goes out through an external BUTT program
On Proppfrexx settings/Commads/ON TRACK PLAY: EXEC_WRITE_FILE D:\REKLÁM\nowplaying.txt|nu|${artist} - ${title}.

What could be wrong here?
Thank you again.

But then nothing is wrong on the ProppFrexx side.
When you write to the external encoder ${artist} - ${title} this is exectly what it receives.
I understand that this is not what you desire, but this is exactly the artist and title of an overlay container.

The title update settings obviously only work for the internal encoder.
So why don’t you use these?
Or tell the encoder something different for overlays?
