Adding a fallible output option

Post by fred48fm »

Hi,

I noticed an issue today regarding audio output handling.

If the audio output device disappears (for example, the soundcard is unplugged or temporarily unavailable), ProppFrexx stops playing. Playback resumes normally once the audio device becomes available again.

Is there currently an option or setting to handle this case?

Ideally, it would be very helpful if the PF core could continue running when the audio output is unavailable.

Thanks for your help,
Best regards

I guess this is impossible. You can not continue driving, if your car breaks. I.e. make your sound device stable and don't unplug it!

Yes, i already changed the main output to a dante virtual soundcard.
It solved the issue.

Maybe adding an alert message like "sound output not available" ?
When the problem happened, the PF window was like normal but nothing playing.
It take some time to find that was a sound output issue...

We will see, not sure, if it is possible to detect in all cases...
