Re: ProppFrexx ONAIR already running
Thank you! I am using the latest version, 4.5.2.5.
Re: ProppFrexx ONAIR already running
Here are 2 of my setups - they look absolutely the same as your, but I have no issues; I also don't get any similar reports from other customers. So that is indeed puzzling. But I have no idea what to so, as I can not reproduce the issue.
I guess you don't get any records in the "Error-log" file? You are also using the latest Asio4All v2.16?
Have you also tried the interneal RealtekASIO driver on Win11?
Just guessing in the dark, as said, I would have no idea, what could cause the issue in your hardware/OS.

Re: ProppFrexx ONAIR already running
Thanks for the feedback. Which Error-log file do you mean? The one generated when Debug output is enabled in PF ?
And yes I use the latest ASIO4ALL 2.16. I haven't tested yet with the Realtek ASIO driver on Windows 11, I will try to do it before end of today.

No, that would be the Debug…log. I mean the Error.log.

Re: ProppFrexx ONAIR already running
Then no, I have no Error.log file.
I'm trying to find and install the official Realtek ASIO Driver for ALC892. By the way, which Audio chips have you tested?

Re: ProppFrexx ONAIR already running
ALC897, ALC1220 and ALC4080.
But I think this doesn't really matter, as I also tried various other non Realtek Soundcards (from M-Audio, Dragonfly to ESI and Focusrite - even with native ASIO drivers - non had any issues) ... but of course there are too many to test them all.
I also kow a lot of customers using ASIO and no one ever had such issues... that's why I am as puzzeled as you are.
But I assume, that it is an ASIO4ALL v2 issue somehow... do you have the possibility to test other ASIO drivers?
Or are you using any VST plugins?
For me, it came for example with the Dell Win11 update.

Re: ProppFrexx ONAIR already running
I could finally ‚reproduce‘ it on one soundcard and with using Asio4All!
The app actually ‚hangs‘ when freeing the audio device. Ie. all is closed and released, except the audio device.
I am not sure, if I can fix or work around this issue - as it is definitely an Asio4All issue. Using the RealtekASIO driver (instead of Asio4All) doesn’t have this issue.

Re: ProppFrexx ONAIR already running
Thanks a lot for investigating. I was not able to use the Realtek ASIO driver on my test machine with Windows 11 (Maybe the ALC892 is too old?). I'll do a test on the prod machine when I have the opportunity.
But good that you have conclude this is an ASIO4All issue, I don't have the debug tools and knowledge to investigate deeper.
I can live with the bug, it is just a little bit annoying to kill the process each time I want to update ProppFrexx.

Re: ProppFrexx ONAIR already running
A fix/workaround for Asio4All has been deployed in the new v4.5.2.6 !
