v4.5.2.0 - .4 - stable

Post by radio42 »

Version 4.5.2.4 is out!

What's New?
  • New Layout Save concept and Layout Restore bug-fix
  • ProppFrexx Statistics column read bug-fix and TotalPlayCount and ListenerCount added
  • GPIO library update (possible bug-fix issue)
  • Normalization fix for broken MP3 files
  • GPIO Client bug-fix when displaying the Axeltech state
  • VT 'Stop Cartwall with Next' option bug-fix
  • General library updates
  • New UI- and Audio-Lib version
  • Various optimizations and smaller bug-fixes

One user had a problems, that some MP3 files actually played 'silently', i.e. no audio was heard.
The reason was, that turned on ReplayGain + Normalization. But the normalization function calculates the peak sample value and adjusts the gain accordingly. For this broken MP3 a very large peak sample value (the one of the 'broken' MP3 frame) was reported, which resulted in a gain value of almost -99.0 dB, e.g. silence.
The v4.5.2.1 - now also handles 'broken MP3 frames' correctly, i.e. unexpected peak values are ignored.
In v4.5.2.3 a new BASS lib add-on is used fixing the volume envelop ramping.

In v4.5.2.4 the layout restore issue (which some users experienced) seems to be resolved. Note, that also the ribbon tab 'View' was enhanced by two default 'Workspaces': 'Default' (your layout at initial start) and the 'Last Used Workspace' (the layout when you last closed ProppFrexx, which is also the one used when you start ProppFrexx the next time).
These Workspaces can at any time be used to restore the layout.

Bernd.

The latest update (new bass lib) was clearly very welcome. Even though my D&R Airlite had recently received the latest modifications, I'd been struggling to find the correct mixing and fading settings for some time. Now with v4.5.2.3, everything works perfectly!
