not getting the same results when searching metatags

Hi

When I try to find music tagged with "sunshine" in the mood tag I get a set of results (find window.png) but when I try to perform the same search by including it as a script line I immediately do not get any results at all (find script line.png) . I am searching a very large folder with over 200k tracks. Is that the issue? There's no time delay so I don't believe the library size is an issue but when I 'test' the script line nothing is returned.

I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong?
Any suggestions?

In the Find Window the search is using all available media libraries.
Whereas the Filtern in the script is using (only) the media library as defined in that script-line (in your case ‚All Music‘).
You can also limit the search in the Find Window to a particular media library with the top right combobox.

As you also output the media library from the entry in the Find Window, you’ll see, that those found entries are from different media libraries, eg. ‚LVNT 3‘ or ‚5 Star Reggae‘ - but none from the lib ‚All Music‘.

As such, I must assume, that even if the name of the media library is called ‚All Music‘, it doesn’t contain all your music.

The library being searched is a folder containing over 200k songs spread across multiple directories (see screenshot) so the assumption you have made appears to be incorrect - unless I'm misunderstanding your reply?

Anything else I can check?

No, I guess you did not get me wrong.
When using a folder it must be fully scanned and read in all tags. With 200k entries this might take several hours. And when adding new files or sub-folders that lib must be rescanned.
So perform a Rescan…. and note the red status indicator at the very bottom left. When it is off, the rescan is complete.
Only after all Tags are fully read in, the Find Window will return all filters properly.

Tried to rescan the library. It is taking 11 seconds which is impressive but after reading your guidance, slightly concerning! Will keep trying to find solutions but something is slightly amiss?

Update: I checked all the settings and have enabled 'Cache Library (synced_pfp) and the Proppfrexx Worker thread status shows it going through every tag - so will check back in a few hours.

That’s why the cached libs setting is enabled by default. Ie. don’t change any settings until you exactly know why.

So the 11sec. is to enumerate the files, but not until all Tags are read in.
