Managed to mess up Find Track

Post by kruse »

Nubie-question:

Previously, "Find track" showed the artist and the song, now I one way or the other, made it only show the file name. How can I get back to the original layout and make that layout stick?

You probably accidentally deleted the Trackname column ;)
You can define the layout as you need it...

Just right-click on the column header (e.g. the 'Filename' column) and then select 'Column Chooser...'.

Now you can drag and drop any column from or into the column chooser to select exactly which columns you want to make visible in the find window.

To remove a column you simply drag a header away somewhere into the table area until a gray cross appears and then drop that column.

This functionally is btw the same in almost any table.

In the general settings you can even Reset all layouts to its defaut if you messed it up completely, see the More Stuff section.

This time I managed to delete some options in the "Column chooser", and now they are not available in Find Track.
I have tried to reset all layouts, log out and in, and even restarting the machine, but the column alternatives I deleted does not pop up...

Suggestions for other measures?

Open the Column-Chooser (right-click on a header column) and add them to your view.
If the columns are not visible in the Column-Chooser, they are already displayed the Find Window. Maybe you just changed their column width to be very small…? Ie change the width of these visible columns to check, if this is the case…

Thanks again. Had to do a reset layout and restart, then it worked :)

Nice reminder, do not double-click on the column you want, as it disappears :)

As said. It disappears from the current view with a double-click - as it does in any view/tablw. You can at any time open the column-chooser and ad it back again.
