Adding audio track from media library
Adding audio track from media library
Hi,
I have several media libraries defined, some are Music, some are specific Jingles, Sweepers, etc.
On the media library I define the "Default media type" to force certain Fade/Next functions (i.e. for Jingles do not fade/next, let them play fully).
I cannot see how I can add a specific file from that media library into the playlist.
If I right-click, choose ADD, if I "Add audio track" that forces each file to have the correct MetaTags (which they do not), so the Media Type is not loaded.
If I right click, choose ADD and "Add tracks from.." (media library) I can select the media library I want, but I cannot choose the specific track, it is selected for me.
How would I add a specific track from media library to my playlist?
thanks,
Andy

Re: Adding audio track from media library
Normally this is done by a scripts.
But if you want to to that manually, choose the same menu, but select Add -> Add X random Tracks … and further select the Media Lib you have created.
Another alternative is to use the find window and preselect the related Media Lib (at the top right of the window).

Re: Adding audio track from media library
Thanks for the reply, but sorry I made a mistake in my question.
I want to add a specific jingle, so a specific track that is from a media library (to retain the folder media type that is set).
I.E. in my playlist I need to choose ADD, select from media library JINGLES and then select the specific jingle to play. Allowing a random jingle to play from here won't work for us as the folder/media library contains jingles for lots of things (news, weather, etc)
Thank you!

Re: Adding audio track from media library
Ahh, sorry, now I hope I get you. You want to pick and select a very specific track.
You can use for example the Find Window to do so. By default you search thru all media libs. But at the top right of the Find Window you can also select a specific media library. If selected only in the lib will searched. Using a * in the search field will show all entries.
If your jingle lib only contains a few entries you can even display them as a cartwall.
Or you can open them as a parallel playlist and browse in there and copy&paste tracks into your main playlist.
As such, there are several ways to pick individual tracks from a media lib.
