Inconsistent Audio Levels Between Players After Latest ProppFrexx Update – Stereo Tool / Virtual Audio Cable
Posted: 18 Oct 2026 14:53
Hello everyone,
I'm experiencing an unusual audio level issue with ProppFrexx, which I first noticed after installing the latest update.
I'm currently running an online radio station called Radio Tijdreis, using ProppFrexx in combination with Stereo Tool for audio processing. The audio is routed through a virtual sound card before being sent to the stream.
Recently, I've noticed that the playback volume seems to fluctuate between the ProppFrexx players. For example, one track plays at a normal volume, while the next track on another player sounds noticeably quieter or louder.
I particularly noticed this while listening to the stream through my Teufel speakers.
My current setup:
Radio automation: ProppFrexx
Audio processing: Stereo Tool
Audio routing: Virtual sound card
Source material: Music sourced directly from original CDs
Audio levels: All tracks have been manually checked and adjusted for consistent playback levels
As far as I can tell, the music files themselves are not causing the issue.
My questions:
Could this behaviour be related to a change introduced in the latest ProppFrexx update?
Are there any player-specific volume, gain, normalization or audio routing settings that I should check?
Could Stereo Tool or the virtual sound card be causing different output levels between players?
Has anyone else experienced similar volume fluctuations after updating ProppFrexx?
Would someone be willing to listen to my live stream and check whether they can hear these volume differences during transitions between tracks?
You can listen here:
Website: https://www.radiotijdreis.nl
TuneIn: https://tunein.com/radio/Radio-Tijdreis-s361321/
I would really appreciate it if someone could test the stream and share their findings or suggest which settings I should investigate.
My main goal is to achieve a consistent audio level across all players without noticeable volume differences during transitions.
Thank you very much for your time, help and suggestions!
Kind regards,
Johnny Erens
