Overlay sheduler in Script

1. I have the professional version without advert module.
2. I plan in Overlay scheduler e.g. showbiz-news
3. I plan in Script a Container and select this Overlay
4. However, this does not play.
5. If you remove this Overlay from the script, it does play.
The disadvantage is that it is then placed according to time. However, we want to determine the place ourselves, in +/- the predetermined time.
Is this possible or not? This would then play automatically.
In the general settings, also to combine the overlays with double, also checked all other settings.
If the overlay is in the script, then the overlay does not play. If the overlay is not in the script, then the overlay does play.
We want to work with the overlays because you do not have to place content in the scripts.
Thanks in advance for the explanation.

I am not really sure how you configured things (a screenshot of your overlay entry and your script would actually help).
But you might select in the overlay entry the option ‚AsPlaylistInsert‘. This option would resolve the overlay entry as a regular playlist entry (instead of playing it via the overlay player).
Sounds like this is what you are mooning for?!

Would it be possible to play the overlay on the same line as in the script?
Now it only plays when the overlay is not in the script.
From the moment the overlay is also in the script, it does not play.
Thanks for the help.

I still don’t fully get your setup?
You have defined a Program Entry from 00:00:00 to
01:00:00. and here you are running the script ‚The Music A - Regio MIX‘.
How does this script look like?
You have then defined an Overlay Entry at 23:30:00 (different hour?) with another scriot.
How does this script look like?
Plus I don’t understand you Add Embedded Container dialog in which you add the INFO overlay?
Why adding a container and where?
If you want to play the INFO overlay while your program is running, you don’t have to do anything - But the hours need to match.
Ie. define your Overlay StartTime to eg. 00:30:00. OR make your Overlay entry an hourly recurring one.
No need to add any Overly Container. Ie. when the Program/Script is running, at 00:29 the Overlay would start and execute its script and the resulting script-lines will be added to the underlaying program playlist.
The Add Embedded Overlay Container is useless then.
If the overlay still isn’t resolved, pls check the scheduler log - see the tools ribbon tab for details.

We want to put the overlay as a container in the script to determine the correct place.
For the info we want a hook with this music later but first info.... so we want to make sure the order of playing is correct.

You still are ‚only‘ referencing from with any container script line (guess this is what you do?) an overlay.
So the overlay still must be in that time range.
Ie. as said, your overlay must either be a hourly recurring one or it must start at 00:30:00 and not 23:30:00.
As said post your scripts as asked above. Else it is hard to follow what you have configured and what you like to achieve.
However, I still don’t really get you. As an overlay in your case also just references/executes a script. So why don’t you use/execute the script directly as an FTE?

The reason why in overlay is.
We want 1 or 2 scripts without program content and every half hour a different INFO. Such as weather report, news, calendar,...
We want the overlay in the script because we want to see the exact location.
If you work with FTE, then you need different scripts again.
It is to optimize something in other scripts. We adjust the format on the radio a bit... by working with overlay, you need fewer different scripts.
Thanks in advance, otherwise very satisfied with Proppfrexx!

This should also work.
Have you tried the Test function? What does it report?
Re: Overlay sheduler in Script

15/03/2025 7:54:00: WARNING: Overlay 'INFO-WeerBericht@2025-03-15T07:55:00' was suppressed (Playlist 'Test @ 15/03/2025 7:00:00' contains Embedded Overlay Container).
When I don't put the overlay in the script, it plays.
Put the overlay in the script and it doesn't play.
Also the preview of the overlay works, but the moment it should play it skips this content.
I get this error message or warning: 15/03/2025 7:54:00: WARNING: Overlay 'INFO-WeerBericht@2025-03-15T07:55:00' was suppressed (Playlist 'Test @ 15/03/2025 7:00:00' contains Embedded Overlay Container).
The general settings are also correct, see previous posts, it's not there either.
I do have the Professional version, not the full one. Could this be the cause?
I have performed this test and changed the hours from 30 to 55 and shifted them in the script to be able to perform this test.
You can listen to the track in advance, the time of the overlay is also correct, so PF finds it, however, loading to broadcast is skipped.

It looks, like you play Overlays via the Overlay Scheduler and as Embedded Overlay Containers in parallel.
But you can only use either of them.
Ie. play AlL overlays via the overlay player/scheduler or ONLY via embedded containers.
You can not mix both of them. As this might result in duplicate playlists.
You can try the ‚ForceUsageNeverSuppress‘ option.
