Questions before switching to ProppFrexx

Hello,
We are a student radio currently using winmedia software as our automation system and interesting in using ProppFrexx instead.
Nevertheless we have some questions about essential features for us and how can we make a similar thing in ProppFrexx.
First of all we often use a panel where we can see all our categories open them by just clicking and drag and drop a file on it. We have think of adding a file explorer in our workspace but we cannot drag and drop file and change the presentation to have something allowing us to see a large number of categories without scroll (like a centralized content panel). Do you have any ideas of what we can use ?
Moreover if we have a database media library can ProppFrexx directly add a content to a folder and add informations to the database ?

Is it possible to lock PFL player as a panel ? or to replace the PFL by standby player without having it messing around ?

Winmedia works as a continuous playlist were 1H slot are input. For the moment to prevent audio file of a show to be automatically played by our scheduler in case of an alarm clock wich do get up our animator we put audio at the end of this slot (which will be longer than 1h) and therefore it will never be played as discarded before. If the animator is here he will just discard audio before and play it manually. Therefore how can we have a system preventing the scheduler to play what is supposed to be a show and play normal musical program if there is no user in the studio.

For example 14h-18H Its rock on Monday as usual but we have a show at 16h. If the animator is here he will do something and have his show open up in ProppFrexx to play manually it but if he is not here the rock show continue as usual
Other thing as the show will be in another tab (it is one program one tab if I am rigth) can we have a timer showing how many time before the end of the music in the music program tab to allow us for a quick transition when we are in the show tab ?

Also how license are managed ? Are we able in case of hardware fail to transfer ProppFrexx ? And where can we find informations about multi studio in propfrexx enterprise I am not able to find them ?

I know that switching of software is also switching of paradigm sometimes but ProppFrexx seems modular enough to have something that work in a way or another.

Have a good day :)

In ProppFrexx you can also open many playlists in parallel, while having one main (automated) playlist being effectively playing your main program. You can simply use the SHIFT+Add key to add the selected track to any other playlist.
In addition, there are (as you can see) many other window panels, which are highly customization, e.g.:
- the Find Window, which allows you to quickly search for your tracks within your media libraries (each lib can be quickly selected; use the * to search and display all tracks contained, changing the Lib will after will always display all tracks in the libs, as you described it)
- a Trackboard with 5 shortcuts to switch between 5 'playlists' for quick references to tracks you might often play
- the Folder Explorer with any number of short cuts to your track folders, i.e. you can quickly switch between folders
- two Cartwalls with your jingles, station ids etc.
- a Standby Player with additional players for ad-hoc play back
- etc.
In each panel window you can simply press the Spacebar and the arrow keys for a quick preview playback on your PFL channel.
Each of these windows allow direct Drag&Drop of tracks to your main playlist!

Database media libs are supported, see the documentation for more info, but you would have to maintain your database yourself.

Not sure what you mean by messing around with the PFL Player? This one is on purpose and by good design a model dialog.
Note, that you can use the Quick-Player instead - as explained above, simply press the Spacebar key and use the arrow-keys for jumping around - this is the quickest PFL you can get!
The PFL Player instead is designed to adjust the cue-points etc
Another option is the Segue Editor, which is designed to be a dock panel and might stay open all the time; e.g. for quick segue changes.

Please take a look to the tutorial videos and have a look around here in the forum. Any program starts by default in a new playlist window; except you use the ...TimeUpdateSync Start Types. You can also pre-generate any program scheduler entry with a Create Playlist Template functions. This will create a script using manually pre-created playlist, which can be over-scheduled, e.g. with your 'alarm clock' - whatever that is. Alternatively you might also manually create playlists and assign them directly to the program (when you open the Script combo-box in the program entry, you can select the >FILE: entry).
For the times you want a pure automatically generated playlist at run-time, just assign a regular script to the program.

As you can see, many many options, which are impossible to describe all here...I am sure you will fine one, which matches your requirements - just play around with it and do some testing yourself and watch the tutorial videos.

Another option is to scan this forum. E.g. for the conditional execution when a live DJ is in your studio or play a regular show instead, see here:
https://www.proppfrexx.radio42.com/foru ... 647#p14647

Licenses are explained here: http://www.proppfrexx.radio42.com/purchase.html
Yes, you can transfer you license to a new PC, e.g. in case you need to change hardware because of a defect. Send me your original registration mail to deactivate plus the new ProppFrexx Ident-Number as shown at startup when installed on the new PC.

What requirements do you have for Multi-Studio support? In ProppFrexx you can define in the Remote-Control-Master/Slave (RCM) popup of the Main mixer channel other Remote Clients. Here you can then remotely control all mixer channels for example. This is however only available in the Enterprise Edition! See the Compare Editions link on your web-site.
There's also a Remote View application available showing the remote status of the other studio. The global TCP/IP interface might be used to configure many remote commands etc. etc. - something to learn and play around as well...

Thanks for your very quick and detailed answer :D
Sorry I haven't been so clear about drag and drop, I mean drag and drop to file explorer panel, for example I download and audio file in a navigator and drag an drop it to ProppFrexx but it seems not possible

I experimented a little with players and it seems with PFL will be good for our usage, but I haven't found how to define cue point in it ?

For the scheduler condition is it possible to have the normal program run in case of the condition is not fulfilled without explicitly specified this program.
For example if one of our member schedule a show on a slot wich traditionnaly is rock can we schedule the program in a way that it do not overwrite the rock program which will be played if the show does not start ? (I.e not explicitly specify rock in the condition menu)

Moreover is it possible to stick a jingle before a music ? Like Hey its ARTIST and you listen to my new single on RADIO NAME and bam, music ?

Have a good day !

You can drag and drop to almost everything, but not to the ProppFrexx Directory Explorer, as this window is a (read-only) version of the Windows File Explorer - in order to manage plain files and their physical location, please use the Windows Explorer.

Regarding Cue-Points:
See the Tutorial Video about Playlists and Cue-Points here: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1018
Also you can press the '?' icon at the very top right of each dialog (e.g. the PFL Player) to get help about each option and button.
Here is best practice:
- play the track in the PFL Payer
- when you are at the location of a cue-point press the PAUSE button (you are in cue-mode now)
- now use the Jog-Wheel to find the exact position
- finally click on he related cue-button (In. Full, ... , Next, Out) to set the Cue-Point

Regarding the Program condition:
Each program has o have a script (or file or input) assigned. The condition articulates an IF-THEN-ELSE clause. Meaning, if the condition meets, another script (or file or input) will be used, else the default one!

Finally (we call this Station Voice Files):
