Please go to the general settings, section More Stuff and adjust the 'Alert Window Show Time:' value to a new value, e.g. 10 sec.

I also just released a v4.0.1.42-beta in which I added an additional check to prevent this in case of wrong settings.

I've installed the beta, Pfoa seems to work fine until I start voice tracking, than the screen freezes but the current track keeps playing till it ends and after that Pfoa just stops. I can't do anything anaymore, have to quit Pfoa in the task manager of Windows

Is this a different issue or still the same one as above?

Part of the problem is solved after installing the beta and changing 'Alert Window Show Time:' value to a new value. The error popup as shown above doesn't popup anymore. But while using Voice-track the program often freez.

Do you get any error or message?
Because if the program freezes it would normally give an error at least in the window event log?!
Or may be the program does not really freeze?
Is nothing responding anymore?

No there is no error message. Only Pfoa isn't responding. All other programs on the PC are still working.

That sounds a bit strange, as when it is not responding it should actually stop working at some time. If there is no error message nowhere it could not really be freezed?!
However, when it happens again, please use Task Manager's "Create Dump File" option to generate a dump file of the hung process and please send that to me...
