Below the history count. If you have 50 tracks in the history 500 artists doesn't make sense ;-)

Ok I see. ;)
But now will happen what I meant.

For example Global history = 50
Madonna, la isla bonita is playing and is added to the 'global history'

2 hours later Madonna will be leaving the 'global history' based on 25 entries added an hour.

So then proppfrexx will be able to play the same or another song of Madonna after 2 hours, right?

We don't want the same artist or song twice a day, so I guess I need to calculate how many hour proppfrexx plays music a day and multiply by the entries added per hour.

For example:
18 hours times 25 entries an hour = 450 entries added to the history a day.

Global History needs to be set to 450.

We will get there ;) just trying to figure out what is the best setup for our station.

Yes.
But if you don't want to play the same artist or title twice a day you can NOT use media libraries with let's say less than 600 tracks! As any smaller library will potentially lead to duplicate tracks.

So your current media libs with only 68 tracks are not good for these rules.
I hope you get me and the logic behind.

I see what u mean and the logic behind it.

But if I have a media lib like the 'hits' media lib which contains 68 entries and each hour 2 of them are played.

So 18 hours a day times 25 entries of history = 450 entries added a day.

2 hits an hour times 18 hours a day = 36 hits in global history

So if I'm right 32 hits are still not in global history, right?

After one day each new hour 25 old entries wil leave the global history including 2 hits and 25 new entries will be added including 2 hits.

So basically there are constantly 36 hits in the global history and 68 entries should be enough if you only play 2 an hour? Or am I way off now? :?

No.
The global history doesn't make any difference where an Artist is coming from.
E.g. 'another' script-line might pick a track from 'another' media lib using "Artist A". But your hits-lib also contains e.g. 2 tracks from "Artist A". As such your hits-lib is at this moment in time only allowed to pick from the remaining 66 tracks.
The next script-line now picks "Artist B", which is also contained in your hits-lib... and so on and so on... after some time, it might be, that there are no tracks logically left in your hits lib, which are allowed to play.

So your math above is incorrect ;-)

To overcome this, you can set the 'SuppressHistoryCheck' option with the script-line using the hits-lib and probably choose the Last RecentlyPlayed script-line mode.
Or you might (beside the 'SuppressHistoryCheck' option) also set the 'ForceLibraryHistoryCheck' option and then define a media library history of e.g. 36 tracks.
The 'ForceLibraryHistoryCheck' option makes sure, that at least the media lib history check is executed. The media lib history only checks for same filename, but not same artists etc.

Ok I understand, but if I set the 'supressHistoryCheck' option to script-line which contains the hit media lib and it plans 'Artist A' and not adding it to the global history the next script line which contains another media lib could plan that same Artist A again, right?

We could talk for hours about this but I will try the suggestions you gave me and see if they work for our station ;)
Thanks for your advice and help!

Please see all script-line options: That's why there are 2 differnt options:
- SuppressHistoryCheck
AND
- SuppressAddHistory
;-)

One quick question: Should filenames also be renamed from ft. to feat. ?Because last night I had a song by John Legend alone and an hour later a song from Meghan Trainor feat. John Legend. The tag is correct but the filename is named with ft. in it.

26-10-2016 1:00:52: GetNextTracks processed, 1 script result entries returned (File=\\PC-6265376\Muziek Collectie\Recurrent\2016\Meghan Trainor ft. John Legend - Like I'm Gonna Lose You.mp3).

What is checked here; filename or tag?

One final question for confirmation.

If the global history size is bigger than the media lib a history check will ALWAYS violate a match/check??

No. Filenames are not splitted by any keyword.

As said: The script and global history uses the TAG data, whereas the media library history only performs a simple check based on the filename only.
