Hay, is it possible for a build in countdown timer/clock in the players where you can monitor how long the runtime is of an intro (realtime)

This is already what a DJ Player is doing - see the attached screenshot.
The DJ Player has
a) a green progress bar showing the remaining time til the Ramp position
b) it shows the Ramp Up Time Left in the time/clock display of the DJ Player

In addition to that there is an extra Timecode Window Panel, which also displays the time code of the current playing track (incl. the ramp time as a count down) in an extra large window:
